Kilmacduagh (traslation “Church of Duagh’s son”) Monastery, near Gort in County Galway, Ireland. Founded in the early 7th century by Saint Colmán, son of Duagh. The above aerial views enable you to see the grave sites in St Colmán’s Cathedral as well as the adjacent Round Tower (32.5 m, 112 ft), the tallest pre-modern building in Ireland. Matterhorn Sunrise Over The Gorner Glacier

Sunrise warms the majestic Matterhorn (4,478 meters /14,692 ft) over the Gorner Glacier, the second-longest glacier in the Alps. This is the view that rewards you after completing the arduous trek over the glacier to the new Monte Rosa hut. I took this picture in 2010 after having made the trek to the hut with my wife and father.

Caïque Passing Spinalonga as Sunrise

Fall 2015 brings us to the Greek island of Crete. The tranquility of a cool sunrise is broken by the slow puttering of a traditional Caïque Greek fishing boat as it passes between the mainland town of Plaka and the island of Spinalonga in the Gulf of Elounda in north-eastern Crete.
